The Automatic Vent Opener was designed to automatically control the temperature and humidity levels and provide additional ventilation when needed, making gardening easier. As the air inside the greenhouse warms, the vent gradually opens to allow the correct amount of air flow into the greenhouse and closes when the temperature cools. The vent arm was designed with a metal cylinder containing wax which expands when heated to push a piston, which raises the window, as the air gets warmer, then contracts as it cools, closing with the use of a spring and resetting the piston. All you need to do is to install it on your roof vent window and it automatically starts working. The Automatic Vent Opener operates without the use of electricity and is compatible with all Palram Greenhouse models only. Opens roof vent automatically as temperature warms for air circulation and heat relief, closes when temperature cools. Mechanical system, solar powered, with a start opening point of 12-15°C. Love them! (I now have two) Works great and takes a job off my morning and evening to-do lists. Plus it takes the guess work out, as it opens automatically based on the temperature inside the greenhouse, rather than me having to guess whether I should open it and how much. And in the winter, you just pop off the pin so it hangs down so you can lock the vent, then just hook it back up again the next spring. Doesn’t get much easier than that!

Works well once you battle with the installation. Tiny writing coupled with tiny diagrams and a plethora of extra parts doesn’t work for me
The door vent kit was shipped fast and received what I expected. Easy enough to install. I wish it opened a tad more but perhaps with warmer days it will.
I was sceptic when I first bought these openers but once installed, I couldn't believe how great they are. The windows gradually open and close whereas I use to either open them completely or close them completely. Looking forward to seeing how the plants will thrive with temperature control.
