Greenhouse Construction and Planting Process

Choosing the location:

Our lot sits east-west with most of the back on solid bedrock. We chose this location to maximize sun exposure, positioned away from the center of our visual space from our patio but still enjoyable as part of the landscaping.

Choosing the greenhouse location on a bedrock lot
We had a large forsythia that needed to be removed to open up the area.
Clearing away a large forsythia shrub Screening soil for new garden beds
Once we cleared away the debris, we exposed the ground that needed to be leveled. The greenhouse would be too high if left at this elevation. We screened the soil and moved it to new beds along the path to the greenhouse.

Cucumbers grew on a trellis kit up the north wall. One pumpkin seed had to be moved outside as it grew very noticeably fast.
